George Becker

George W. Becker, 92, of Sinking Spring, passed away Sunday, August 7, 2022, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband to Doris (Mogel) Becker for over 69 years of marriage. Born in Schaefferstown, PA, George was the son of the late, Clarence H. Becker, and Sara K (Speck). George was a graduate of Heidelberg High School, class of 1948, and went on to graduate from Wyomissing Polytechnical School, class of 1952. He also served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War era. George was very active in his church, Calvary Baptist. He served as a deacon, treasurer, Sunday school teacher, and a leader in the Christian Service Brigade. He was also the proud owner of the Becker Atlantic Gas Station in Wernersville from 1954 to 1964. He also worked as a Machinist at Textile Machine Works for over 20 years, and Dana Corp for 10 years. George enjoyed camping and traveling throughout the US including Alaska and Hawaii.  He was also an avid Phillies and Eagles fan.

In addition to his wife Doris, George is survived by his children, Robert Becker, husband of Carla J. of Reading, Richard S. Becker, husband of Beverly D. of Marlton, NJ, his grandchildren, Justin Becker, Jason Becker, husband of Nantikan, Jennifer Huster, wife of Todd, Jeremiah Becker, fiancé of Katelyn Roof, Christopher Becker, husband of Benita, Carrie Benkert, wife of Brian, and his great grandchildren, Teagan Schein-Becker, Luca Schein-Becker, Ellie, Luke, Gianna, Keya, Akash, Samantha, Caleb, Bruce, Clark, and Arthur. He is also survived by his sister, June Kepley, as well as loving nieces and nephews, Marsha Brown, Dianne Bachman, Randy Kepley, Michael Kepley, Cynthia Eschbach, and David Spaulding.

Funeral Service for George will be held in Calvary Baptist Church, 510 Park Ave. Reading, PA 19611 on Friday, August 12, 2022 at 12:00 PM. Pastor Russell Weidel to officiate. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive relatives and guests in Calvary Baptist Church, from 10:45 AM to 11:45 AM.
