Gary Earl Wolf, 85, a 50-plus year resident of Clifton, New Jersey, passed away Monday, August 26, 2024, at 11:30 pm.
Born in Reading, Mr. Wolf was the son of the late William Earl Wolf and Dorothy Catherine (Stewart) Wolf. He was a 1957 graduate of Wilson High School and a 1961 graduate of Albright College with a Bachelor of Science Degree and where he was a member of Kappa Epsilon Phi Fraternity. After graduating from Albright, Gary moved to New Jersey to work for Western Electric in Kearny. After that, he worked in many different jobs as a computer specialist. In his last assignments, he taught computer skills to employees of various companies throughout New Jersey. Gary was well known for his computer expertise, and he often helped friends with their technology issues.
Gary was an avid skier. He served as President of the Twin Hickory Ski Club in Nutley, New Jersey, and was a member of the Garden State Ski Club. Additionally, he was a very active member of the Passaic-Clifton Scuba Divers Club, where he wrote the club’s newsletter. Gary loved games of any kind, and in his later years he played Bridge with a group of friends weekly. Gary was very creative, writing and producing plays for the ski club, and designing his own holiday cards and sending them to friends. He was also a movie buff, and could talk about almost every movie ever made. When it came to football, Gary was a devoted New York Jets fan, and enjoyed wearing Jets logo apparel to show his team pride.
Gary is survived by his brother Warren G. Wolf of Sinking Spring and his nephews, Jesse C. Wolf (Holly) of Sinking Spring and Jeffrey W. Wolf ( Erin) of Sinking Spring, and his great nephews and nieces Nicholas, Joey, Emmy, Jonah, and Genna. Gary loved his family and often talked about and shared pictures of them. He was a very proud uncle and great uncle. He s also survived by his fraternity brothers and many friends in New Jersey and several other states. He was a good and loyal friend and will be missed.
A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held at Bean Funeral Homes & Crematory, 3825 Penn Ave., Sinking Spring, on Friday, September 27, 2024, at 11:00 am. Amy S. Landis, Celebrant, will officiate. Interment is private and will be held at Laureldale Cemetery at the convenience of the family. The family will receive relatives and friends at Bean Funeral Homes & Crematory, Friday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Online condolences may be made at www.beanfuneralhomes.com.
