Gary H. (Gizzy) Damore, 84, of Cumru Township, passed away Thursday, June 15, 2023 at 11:14 pm at Reading Hospital with his family by his side. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corp and was a member of the VMF 232 “Red Devils” Fighter Attack Squadron. Following his service to our country, he became a dental technician by trade and a licensed denturist. He was the founder of American Dental Service (now American Dental Solutions) in 1979 and served as its president until his retirement in 2000.
Mr. Damore is survived by his sons Devyn G. Damore husband of Valerie J. (Frees) Damore of Cumru Township; Justin A. Damore and his loving companion Maria Carjan of Wyomissing; Jason Renninger and his loving companion, Gina Bobb of Flying Hills and his grandchildren Shayne M. Damore, Husband of Kaley (Smith) Damore; Tanner Renninger husband of Katelyn Styer; Brooke Damore Barbon, wife of Evan Barbon; Ariel Damore, fiancé of Gregory Allers; Sidney Damore; Ethan Renninger; Cohen Renninger and his great grandchildren Lucia Damore; Oliver Damore; Maximus Damore and Adalynn Barbon. Gary was preceded in death by his 2nd and 3rd wives, Linda D. (Williams) Damore, and Susan (Crum) Damore as well as his elder sister Lois (Damore) Migliore and his big brother Louis D. Damore Jr.
Gary was always seen with a warm smile. He was the life of every party and always had a joke or story to share for every occasion. He had very many friends and his family were always astounded how he would run into someone he knew, almost everywhere he went. He was a legend all around the Reading, PA area, and a fixture in Ocean City, MD, all the best hunting lands of northern PA and in his younger days up and down Las Olas Blvd. in Fort Lauderdale, FL. He loved hunting and offshore fishing. Often winning prize money for White and Blue Marlin, Sharks and Tuna in the biggest fishing tournaments. He piloted airplanes, rode motorcycles, captained boats and even built his own home on Cedar Top Rd. where he lived in for the last 40+ years. Most of all, Gary loved to spend time with his family and friends who will all miss him dearly.
Funeral Service will be held at Bean Funeral Home 129 East Lancaster Ave. Shillington, Saturday, June 24, 2023, at 10:00 am. Gary’s nephew, Reverend Kevin Sylvester will officiate.
