Frederick Walters

Frederick R. Walters, 84, of Sinking Spring, passed away June 13, 2009 at 4:46 AM in Reading Hospital & Medical Center where he was admitted Monday. He was the husband of Evelyn E. (Moyer) Walters. Born in Pottsville on May 17, 1925, he was the son of the late Lyman and Minnie (Behney) Walters.


Mr. Walters was employed as a truck driver by Reading Transportation and later New Penn Motor Express until his retirement. He later worked at Miller-Keystone Blood Center.


Frederick was a member of VFW Post # 6150, Sinking Spring, Teamsters Union # 69 and was a 32 Degree Mason and a member of Lodge # 62, F & A M.


Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter Sandra L. (Walters) wife of Albert N. Abbott of Middletown, DE, a granddaughter Susan L. (Abbott) wife of Fred W. Abel of Clayton, DE, a grandson Scott N. Abbott of Middletown, DE and 2 sisters Joyce (Walters) Miller of Cressona and Viola (Walters) Fendrick of Ridley Park.
