Frederick Reifsnyder

Frederick S. "Fritz" Reifsnyder, 82, of Sinking Spring, passed away Sunday, October 11, 2009 at 4:25 a.m. at Mifflin Center, where he had been a patient for 3 years.



Born in West Reading, he was the son of Emily L. (Reifsnyder) Hiester of Sinking Spring, and the late Charles W. Hiester.



He was a U.S. Army veteran during World War II. He worked as a delivery driver for George Heck Fuel for 26 years, and also worked at Wilson High School as a custodian.



He was a Life Member of Sinking Spring VFW Post 6150, where he also served as a bartender; the Bernville Legion Post #0732, the Liberty Fire Co. in Sinking Spring, the former West Wyomissing Fire Company, and the Robesonia Fire Company.



In addition to his mother, he is survived by his sisters: Virginia L. (Hiester) McCane of Sinking Spring, D. Frances (Hiester) Weitzel of Wernersville, and Annette F. (Hiester) Lengel of Reinholds.



There is also a nephew: Michael McCane.



In addition to his father, he is pre deceased by brother: Glenwood C. Hiester.




In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Mifflin Center, Activities Fund, 500 Philadelphia Ave., Shillington, PA 19607.
