Fred Dobreff

Fred N. Dobreff, 54, of Spring Twp., passed away September 1, 2008 at 11:20 AM in Reading Hospital & Medical Center where he was a patient since August 26th. He fought a courageous battle against cancer. Born in Reading, he was the son of Betty (Stamm) Dobreff of Mohnton and the late Stefan N. Dobreff.
He was a 1972 graduate of Twin Valley High School and attended Drexel University. Fred was an avid skier and scuba diver and a member of The Reading Motorcycle Club and a member and pilot of The Reading Aero Club.
He was the owner of Fred's Auto Service for 28 years last working July of 2008.
Surviving in addition to his mother are a brother Peter S. husband of Carol M. (Aldi) Dobreff of Clifton Park, NY and 2 nieces Christine M. Dobreff and Susan E. (Dobreff) wife of Stuart Smothers.
Services will be Monday at 12:00 Noon in Bean Funeral Home, 129 East Lancaster Ave., Shillington. Rev. Eckhard Grimm will officiate. Friends will be received Monday 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Interment in Forest Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 498 Bellevue Ave., Reading, PA 19605.
