Fred Cutts, Jr.

Fred M. Cutts, Jr., 88, a resident of Berks County for over 50 years passed away June 14, 2022.  Mr. Cutts was born in Montgomery, Alabama on March 30, 1934 the son of Fred M. and Grace M. Cutts.  He was a 1957 graduate of Auburn University and was employed by Vanity Fair Mills (VF Corporation) as an Industrial Engineer and Department Manager for over 38 years, last working in 1996.

While at Auburn, Mr. Cutts was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity and played saxophone and clarinet in the Auburn Knights Dance Band.  He had several hobbies including, wood carving where he won numerous awards, ship modeling, painting, and nature walks.

Mr. Cutts was a member of West Lawn United Methodist Church for nearly 50 years.

Mr. Cutts is survived by his wife of 65 years, Alice (Megginson) Cutts of Wyomissing, his daughter, Alison C., wife of Andrew M. Lacey of Gambrills, MD, his two grandchildren, Bradley A. Lacey, Sr., husband of Francesca S. of Northfield, NJ, and Brianne L., wife of John M. Fazio of Catonsville, MD, and his great grandchildren, Emma, Bradley, Jr., and Jack.  Mr. Cutts is preceded in death by his daughter, Deborah E. Cutts.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 27, 2022 at 10:00am in West Lawn United Methodist Church, 15 Woodside Avenue, Reading, PA 19609.  Pastor Terry Cooney to celebrate.  The family will receive friends and relatives on Monday, June 27, 2022 from 9:00am to 10:00am.  Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter.
