Frank Bigos

Frank G. Bigos, passed away peacefully at Lehigh Valley Hospital on January 26, 2019. He was 89 and soon to be 90 on March 4.

Frank was one of 12 children Born in Reading to Michael and Mary (Babon) Bigos, both from Czech Republic.

Frank attended and graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1948 and served in the Army in Korea until his mother's illness called him home. He met his wife, Ellen Louise Aschenbrenner at a Central Catholic dance, but they delayed their marriage until Ellen Louise could finish her nurse's training at St. Joseph's Hospital. They were married on Nov. 7, 1953 at St. Paul's R.C.C. by Msgr. Wachter and recently celebrated 65 years of marriage.
Frank was a draftsman for 40 years at Sanders and Thomas, a design and engineering firm. In addition to being a devoted husband and father, Frank was an avid Phillies Fan, antique car enthusiast, member of the PA Live Steamer, and an accomplished woodworker. Frank was a lifetime member of Sts. Cyril and Methodious R.C. Church. Frank and Ellen also delivered Meals on Wheel to help the community. Frank will be sadly missed by friends and family.

Frank was predeceased by 11 brothers and sister: Aloysius, Peter, Andrew, Joseph, John, Michael, Rev. William Bigos, Steven, Julia Bigos Stabolepzy, Elizabeth Bigos Vojtasek, and Mary Bigos Cosgrave.
Frank and Ellen have 3 children: Dr. David Bigos, husband of Deborah, Robert Bigos, husband of Jacqueline, and Carol McVean, wife of Douglas. There are 5 grandchildren: Rebecca, Jennifer, Joseph, Diana, and step-grandchild: Elizabeth.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at Holy Guardian Angels, R.C. Church on Friday, February 1, 2019 at 11:00AM. The family will receive friends and relatives at Bean Funeral Home, 6 Fairlane Rd., Exeter Twp., on Friday from 9-10:15AM. The entombment will follow the Mass at Gethsemane Cemetery & Mausoleum.
