Francesco "Frank" Avanzato, 87, of Reading, passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2016 in Reading Hospital. He was the husband of Ilda (Gaspari) Avanzato to whom he was married to for 60 years. Born in Reading he was the son of the late Luigi and Carmela (Calerba) Avanzato. Frank was a member of Saint Margaret's Roman Catholic Church and served in the United Sates Air Force. He was the owner of Avon Roofing Company, Inc. for 60 years. He was a member of the Berkshire Country Club, St. Marco's Society and Quiet Bird Men. He was a pilot for 40 years, an avid skier, hunter and golfer. No one loved life and people as did Frank, and he embraced both with an endless passion and energy. His infectious smile lit up a room and his charisma immediately drew people to him. His audience was always entertained by his quick wit and humor. Frank's lifelong nurturing of his garden that he so freely shared was a reflection of how he lived his life: dedication, pride in one's work and openness to new growth. Frank embodied all the qualities that make a person memorable and leaves an unforgettable legacy of love, hard work, generosity of spirit and a limitless sense of adventure. In addition to his wife Ilda, Frank is survived by his children Lori L. Arbitell of Phoenixville and Frank L. Avanzato of Flying Hills and his grandsons John Ryan Arbitell, Jr. and Andrew Francesco Arbitell along with their father John R. Arbitell. He is also survived by his brothers Dominic Avanzato of Philadelphia and Joseph Avanzato of Reading.
