Frances J. Sweigart, 89, passed away peacefully under hospice care at the Reading Hospital on Saturday December 11 at 10:25 P.M.,where she had been a patient since December 1st. She was a resident at The Villa at Morlatton for the last year, moving there from Reading.
Frances was the daughter of the late Howard and Clara (Hettinger) Eberly and the wife of the late Gearhart Sweigart who passed away in 1987.
After graduating from Reading High School she briefly worked at Textile Knitting Mills before her marriage. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, and was active in caring for the infants in the nursery. Mrs. Sweigart is survived by her 4 children: Charles Richard Sweigart of Berks county, Lee Roy husband of Kay Sweigart of Exeter Twp., Nancy Jean Sweigart of Reading and Martin James Sweigart of Muhlenberg Twp. There are 7 Grandchildren and 9 Great-Grandchildren.
Other survivors include Sisters: LaRue Huber and Catherine Grieff and by brothers: Howard Eberly and Richard Eberly. She was predeceased by sisters: Thelma Burkhart and Ethel Malek.
Francis occupied herself as a wife and mother and spent most of her life assisting friends and neighbors. Where ever she saw a need, she found a way to assist others. Frances and her husband were avid motorcyclists.
