Frances T. McKnight

              Frances T. (Perry) McKnight, 77, of Mohnton passed away Monday, April 17, 2023, in the Reading Hospital.  Born in Whitpain Township, she was the daughter of the late Theresa (Serigo) and Douglass Perry.  Frances was the loving wife of Morris P. McKnight, who passed September 24, 2006.  She was a member of Allegheny Evangelical Lutheran Church.  She worked as a Purchasing Manager for Eastwood Co. in Pottstown for 14 years before retiring.  Although Frances never truly retired as she worked at Redner’s twice a week to keep herself busy.  She also volunteered for Meals on Wheels, Opportunity House, and at the Mifflin Center.  She enjoyed drawing, crocheting, making baskets, and going to the flea market.  She was a great cook and baker.  Frances cherished every moment spent with her family whether it was at a grandchild’s event, teaching them how to preserve and jar food, or just hanging out.  Frances was an “all in, all the time” type of person.  She had her son teach her how to shoot a gun a couple of months ago and was planning to sky dive on her 80^th birthday with her grandson.  Frances will be remembered as an independent, creative, adventurous, and generous woman. 

               Frances is survived by her children, Morris W. McKnight, husband of Jamie of Reading, Preston P. McKnight, husband of Maryellen of Naples, FL, Sean P. McKnight, husband of Christine of Lancaster, and Heather L. deTurck, wife of Mark Horst of Temple.  Also surviving are her 10 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, her siblings, Paul Perry and Mary Hartman, both of Norristown, and her sister-in-law, Kathy Perry, of Souderton.  In addition to her husband, Morris, Frances is preceded in death by her brother, Douglass Perry.

               The family will host a memorial gathering on Saturday, April 22, 2023 from 12:00pm to 2:00pm in Salute Ristorante Italiano, 4716 Penn Avenue, Sinking Spring, PA 19608.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in honor of Mrs. Frances T.
