Floyd Ruttenberg

February 2, 1919 — December 3, 2017

Floyd M. Ruttenberg, 98, formerly of Muhlenberg Township, passed away Sunday, December 3, 2017 at 2:25 pm. Born in Reading he was the son of the late John and Laura E. (Fogelman) Ruttenberg. Mr. Ruttenberg was a 1936 graduate of Reading High School and served in the United States Army Air Corp during World War II. He was a member of Kesher Zion Synagogue, served as past president of Reading B'nai B'rith Men's Lodge and was a member of Jewish War Veterans. Mr. Ruttenberg was the owner/operator of John Ruttenberg & Sons Auto Glass & Auto Parts, Used Cars & Trucks in Reading for 38 years and then worked as a Real Estate Associate in Reading part time until his retirement. He is survived by several nieces and nephews and was preceded in death by his sister Mildred E. Ruttenberg and his brother Melvin E. Ruttenberg.
Graveside service will be held in Kesher Zion Cemetery, Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at 9:00 am. Rabbi Matthew Abelson will officiate. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Kesher Zion Synagogue, 1245 Perkiomen Ave. Reading, PA 19602 in memory of Mr. Floyd M. Ruttenberg. Bean Funeral Home, 6 Fairlane Road, Exeter Township is in charge of arrangements and online condolences may be made at www.beanfuneralhomes.com
