Florence Michalowski

Florence M. Michalowski, 84, of Humingbird Hill, formerly of Kenhorst, passed away Monday, February 15, 2016 at 9:00 pm in Reading Hospital. She was the wife of the late Leon Michalowski, Sr. who passed away June 14, 2013 and to whom she married on April 15, 1950. Born in West Reading, she was the daughter of the late Sylvester and Mary (Pawlik) Kosnik. She was a 1949 graduate of Reading High School and was a member of the former Saint Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church. She was employed for 47 years by Calico Corners, formerly Cotton Mill Store, retiring as manager in 1995. Mrs. Michalowski enjoyed needle crafts, sewing and designing children's articles, especially dresses. She loved traveling, especially many cruises taken with family and friends. Mrs. Michalowski was a Loving Mother to Barbara A. Stehman, wife of Ricky D. Stehman of Leesport; Stephan L. Michalowski, husband of Deborah Michalowski of Douglassville; Leon Michalowski, Jr., husband of Cindy L. Michalowski of Sinking Spring and Gary Michalowski, husband of Lisa Michalowski of Temple. She was a Loving Nana to Jessica L. McAllister, wife of Mark McAllister; Daniel A. Hetrich, fiancAC. of Sarah Robertson; Toby C. Michalowski; Amber L. Michalowski and a Loving Great Nana to Samantha E. Scholar and Cameron G. McAllister. She is also survived by her sister Jeanette Vick of Anniston, Alabama.
Funeral Procession will depart Bean Funeral Home, 129 East Lancaster Ave. Shillington, Monday, February 22, 2016 at 9:15 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint John Baptist de la Salle Roman Catholic Church, Kerrick & Mitti Roads, Shillington at 10:00 am. Reverend Richard H. Clement, Celebrant. Interment will follow in Saint Mary's Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends in Bean Funeral Home Monday from 8:00-9:15 am. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Miller Keystone Blood Center, 2745 Leisczs Bridge Road #A, Reading, PA 19605 in memory of Mrs. Florence M. Michalowski.
