Florence Bartal

Florence M. (Filip) Bartal, 79, of Reading, passed away on Friday, April 9, 2010, at 12:39 a.m. at Country Meadows in Wyomissing.

Born in Summit Hill, PA, she was the daughter of the late Casmir Filip and Sophie (Gniadecka) Filip, and widow of the late Francis M. Bartal, who passed away in 1987.

She was a 1949 graduate of Summit Hill High School, and a member of St. John Baptist de la Salle R.C.C. in Shillington.

She worked as a Sales Associate for Boscovs for 20 years, spending the majority of her time there at Boscovs West, before retiring in 2008. She previously worked in food service for the Wilson School District.

She is survived by her son: David A. Bartal, husband of Deborah Bartal of Sinking Spring; and a daughter: Karen F. (Bartal) Kieffer of Lancaster.

There are also five grandchildren: Andrew, Jordan, Alexa, Jared, and Jason.

She is also survived by a sister: Stephanie (Filip) Stawiarski of Allentown, and a brother: Joseph Filip of Summit Hill.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was pre deceased by a son: Mark F. Bartal, who passed away in 2001, and six siblings.
