Fern Kirstein

Fern E. Kirstein, 88, of Alsace Township, passed away September 25, 2010 at 7:20 pm in her residence. She was the wife of George J. Kirstein. Born in Robesonia, she was the daughter of the late Harry G. and Annie E.(Aulenbach)Berringer. Mrs. Kirstein was a 1942 graduate of Sinking Spring High School and was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Reading. She was employed by the United States government in Reading from 1942-1945 as a clerk typist. In addition to her husband she is survived by her sons, John R. husband of Kathy L. Kirstein of Hatfield, PA and Larry R. Kirstein of Reading along with her grandchildren Eric J. husband of Jodi Kirstein and Erin L. wife of Kevin Allen and great grandchildren Ryan A., Avery E. and Leia R. Also surviving are her sisters Sandra L. and Barbara J. Berringer both of Reading. She was preceded in death by her siblings Harry G., Lawrence A. and Warren E. Berringer, Elsie S. Gensemer and Shirley A. Boie.
