Fern E. Herb, of Reading, passed away October 5, 2015 in Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center.
She was the widow of Glen M. Herb who passed away in 2006.
Born in Reading, she was the daughter of Earl and Mae (Smith) Guistewite.
Fern was employed at various knitting mills in the Reading area and worked in retail sales at The Reading Outlets.
Survivors include sons Mark M. Herb, husband of Cynthia Herb, Muhlenberg Twp; Kevin L. Herb, husband of Deborah Herb, Lower Alsace Twp., five grandchildren, Pamela VanFossen, wife of David; Steven Herb, Justin Herb, Courtney Funk, wife of Alexander , Thomas Herb and great-granddaughter Sophia VanFossen. She was preceded in death by daughter Sharon Herb and five brothers.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Mrs. Herb's memory to Humane Society of Berks County, 1801 N. 11th Street, Reading, PA 19604.
Memorial service will be held in Bean Funeral Homes, North 16th & Rockland Sts, Hampden Heights, Reading Thursday October 8, 2015 at 11:00am, Rev. Paul D. Hansen officiating. Burial will be private in Forest Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive relatives and friends 10:00-11:00am.
