Felix E. Carr, Sr., 67, passed away December 6, 2015 in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Monocacy, he was the son of the late Felix and Betty (Strock) Carr. Felix spent 50 glorious years married to the love of his life, Carol (Fidler) Carr.
Felix worked hard throughout his life as a laborer to care for his family who he loved deeply, always putting the needs of others before his own.
Felix loved the great outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Above all, Poppy loved his grandbabies. Nothing gave him more joy than spending time with each and every one of them and he developed a special bond with all of them. Even at the end, his grandbabies brought smiles to his face.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three children, a daughter, Sherry L., wife of Paul J. Gardner, Exeter; a son, Felix E. Carr, Jr., husband of Kelly, Exeter; a daughter, Brandy L., wife of Denny N. Karas, Exeter; his brothers Mark A. Carr, husband of Beth, Reading, and Marvin Carr, husband of Lea, Baltimore; his sister, Coleen V., widow of Leon Orth; and his sisters-in-law, Janice L., widow of Arnold F. Carr, and Wendy Fidler. He is also survived by his seven beloved grandbabies, Paul M. Gardner, Patrick J. Gardner, Denny J. Karas, Felix J. Carr, Karysa L. ("Rosebud") Karas, and Ian A. ("Walker") Carr.
He was also preceded in death by his brother Jayson P. Carr and his sisters Ronnette E. (Carr) Richards, Cassie Strock, and June E. (Carr) McKim.
Services will be held in Bean Funeral Homes, 6 Fairlane Road, Exeter Twp., Reading, Thursday, December 10, 2015 at 11:00am Rev. Scott Staub officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul's United Methodist Church Cemetery, Geigertown. The family will receive relatives and friends 9:00-11:00am.
