Ethel M. Mays, 95, of Wernersville, passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at 11:10 am in Reading Hospital. She was the wife of the late Denton V. Mays, who passed away July 6, 2010. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Mrs. Mays was the daughter of the late Edgar A. and Ethel P. (Terry) McComsey. Mrs. Mays was a 1938 graduate of Shillington High School. She was a member of West Lawn United Methodist Church and was co-founder of Mays Sandwich Shop in West Lawn. Mrs. Mays is survived by her sons, Richard L. Mays, husband of Dianne M. (Dolan) Mays of East Bridgewater, Massachusetts; Robert A. Mays, husband of Stephanie E. (Reiner) Mays of Sinking Spring; Dennis L. Mays, husband of Joyce E. (Burket) Mays of Sinking Spring and William E. Mays, husband of Karen L. (Miller) Mays of Sinking Spring. She was preceded in death by her daughter Dietra A. Mays, February 27, 2006. Mrs. Mays is also survived by her grandchildren Richard, Christine, Brian, Holly, Todd, Matthew, Joseph and Corinne and her great grandchildren Morgan, Payton, Wyatt, Dulcinea, Gabriella, Jameson, Ansley, Natalie and Hailey along with her sister Emily Johnson of West Lawn.
Memorial Service will be held in West Lawn United Methodist Church, 15 Woodside Ave., West Lawn, Friday, August 5, 2016 at 7:00 pm. Reverend Andrea M. Haldeman will officiate. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Forest Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive relatives and friends in West Lawn United Methodist Church Friday 6:00-7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to West Lawn United Methodist Church Memorial Fund at the above address in memory of Mrs. Ethel M. Mays.
