Esther Louise Shelly

Esther Louise Shelly, 90, formerly of Mohnton, passed away Friday, January 12, 2024 at Towne Center, Myerstown.  She was the wife of Dr. Harold Patton Shelly.  Born in Reading, Mrs. Shelly was the daughter of the late Elmer and Sara (Berstler) Ermold.  She was a 1951 graduate of Reading High School and a 1955 graduate of Berean Bible School, Allentown.    Mrs. Shelly was a member of Calvary Bible Fellowship Church, Sinking Spring.  She was an assistant to the President at Alliance Theological Seminary in Nyack, New York until her retirement in 2000.  In addition to her husband, Mrs. Shelly is survived by her sons Mark Alan Shelly husband of Debra Shelly of Wichita, Kansas and Michael Andrew Shelly husband of Christal  Shelly of Timonium, Maryland and her 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.  Also surviving are her siblings Dorothy Charlotte Rishel wife of Carl Rishel of Dover, Delaware and James Robert Ermold husband of Judith Ermold of Mohnton.  Mrs. Shelly was preceded in death by her daughter Marie Ann Shelly in 2001 and by her sister June LaRue Lee and her brother David Warren Ermold. 

Funeral Service will be held at Calvary Bible Fellowship Church 4891 Penn Ave. Sinking Spring, Thursday, January 18, 2024 at 11:00 am.  Pastor Wayne Rissmiller will officiate.  The family will receive relatives and friends at Calvary Bible Fellowship Church Thursday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.  Interment will be held at Bible Fellowship Cemetery of Zionsville 6401 Vera Cruz Road South, Zionsville, Friday January 19, 2024 at 11:00 am.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Calvary Bible Fellowship Church at the above mentioned address in memory of Mrs. Esther Louise Shelly.  Bean Funeral Home 3825 Penn Ave. Sinking Spring is in charge of arrangements and online condolences may be made at www.beanfuneralhomes.com
