Esther E. (Lotz) Schwambach, 94, formerly of Temple, passed away on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at 2:47 a.m. at the Reading Hospital & Medical Center, where she had been a patient for less than a day. She previously resided at Berks Heim Nursing Home since February 2, 2009.
Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Luther W. Lotz, and Esther M. (Fiant) Lotz. She was the widow of Gordon G. Schwambach, who passed away on August 21, 1994.
She was a 1934 graduate of Muhlenberg High School, and a member of Alsace Lutheran Church in Reading. She worked as a bookkeeper for various local knitting mills for many years, and worked as a Cafeteria Helper at the Muhlenberg School District for 10 years, retiring in 1978. She was a 50 year member and a Past Worthy Matron of the former Elizabeth Herr Chapter Order of Eastern Star, She is survived by her son: Timothy L., husband of Marleen (Werley) Schwambach of Leesport; and two grandsons: Tadd J. of Philadelphia, and Bradley A. of Temple; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was pre deceased by two sisters: Ruth H. (Lotz) Good and Mildred M. (Lotz) Westley.
