Esther Kovras

Esther A. Kovras, 94, of Reading, passed away on September 10, 2016 at her residence.
Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Paraskeva and Maria (Vaporellis) Marmarou.
Esther was a 1940 graduate of Reading High School. She went onto be employed as a Secretary for the Reading School District at the 13th & Union School. She was a member of St. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church and was also a member of St. Xenia Philoptochos Society.
She was predeceased by her husband: Anthony Kovras, and Brothers: George, John, and Chris Marmarou.
She is survived by her daughter: Maria Tomeo, wife of William Tomeo, Jr. of Oley, grandson: Dr. Damon V. Tomeo, fiancAC. of Adrienne Angstadt of Fleetwood, great-grandchildren: Hunter W. Tomeo, and Avery P. Tomeo. She is also survived by her siblings: Stratton Marmarou and Evriklia Koutalelis.
Funeral Service will be held at St. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 1001 E. Wyomissing Blvd., Reading, on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at 11:00AM. The family will receive friends and relatives at church from 10-11:00AM. The interment will follow the service at Gethsemane Cemetery.
