Erwin Woessner, Jr.

Erwin G. Woessner, Jr., 75, passed away Tuesday, June 8, 2021 in the Reading Hospital.

Born in Philadelphia August 11, 1945, he was the loving son of the late Erwin G. Woessner, Sr and Regina “Jean” M.. (Hoffecker). Woessner. Erv grew up in Shilllington and graduated from Governor Mifflin High School in 1963.

After graduating high school Erv attended a technical institute in Illinois to be certified in computer programming. He was employed after graduation first with the Dana Corporation then NeapCo in Pottstown, and later Bollman Hat Factory.  He enjoyed bowling and belonged to a league in his younger years.  Erv was a car enthusiast and loved his Chevrolet Corvettes.  Erwin was a devoted member of St. John the Baptist de la Salle Roman Catholic Church and was seen there every Saturday at 4:00pm serving as an usher.

Erwin was a loving brother to his sister, Emily A. (Woessner) Morad, wife of Yasser Morad of Shillington, and his brother Ronald J. Woessner (deceased), husband of Susan L. (Keffer) of Robesonia. He was also loving uncle to nieces Sherry A.  wife of Kevin E. Epler of Wernersville, Lori S. Gray of Indiana Tracy L Woessner of Las Vegas and nephew Troy J. husband of Lisa, Sinking Spring and great-uncle to Dylan & Taylor Epler, Hannah & Sarah Snyder, and Josh Woessner.

A Memorial Service will be held in Bean Funeral Homes, 129 E. Lancaster Ave., Shillington on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at 2:00 pm.  The family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.  Interment will be held the following day, Friday, June 18, 2021 at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 3301 W. Cheltenham Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19150.  In lieu of flowers, please remember Erv by making a contribution to St. John the Baptist de la Salle Roman Catholic Church, 42 Kerrick Rd. Shillington.
