Eric Burt, 42 was taken from this world on May 1st, 2022. Eric was born on August 20, 1979 in Syracuse New York. Peter and Doretta Rockwell were the loving parents of this amazing man.
Eric moved to Reading Pennsylvania when he was thirteen years old and attended the Wilson school district. Eric graduated from Wilson High School, Class of 1998. Eric started working when he was 14 years old at the Ranch House on Penn Ave, as a bus boy and dishwasher. This was only the start of his working career in the restaurant industry. He went on to work at many other restaurants where he perfected his cooking and management skills. He began working at the Chat aWhile Inn in Mt Penn as a salad chef. This is where he met the love of his life, Heather in 1999, Heather was the short red headed bus girl, who spent way too much time cutting bread in the kitchen so she could be near him. Eric progressed through the ranks at the Chat, from line chef, sous chef, and head chef. After many adventures in that kitchen and beyond, Eric and that little red head married on June 24th, 2006. With the help of his best friend and career counterpart, Jeff Moyer, Eric switched careers to work as a chef at an assisted living home so Heather and him could have more time together. Again Eric rose the ranks in that career, and ended as a District Manager of the dietary departments for many assisted living homes on the east coast. Eric had an incredible work ethic. He put is everything in to every job he had. But his most successful and amazing job he ever had, was being a father to his three beautiful children. On January 30th, 2008 the spark in Eric’s eye became brighter when his son Jameson David came in to this world. The spark burned brighter on the day his gorgeous daughter Ari Michelle was born on Aril 8th, 2010. And the absolute glow of fatherhood surrounded Eric on December 26th, 2014 when his son Lennon Jack entered this loving family. The Burt bunch was complete, that is until Mr. George (Georgie) Harrison came to be in this amazing family in 2017.
Eric was a dedicated father and husband. Family was everything to this man. Eric was always calm cool and collected. He was never a big talker, but he was always able to show you how much he cared and loved for you from his presence, his beautiful smile, and caring eyes.
Eric is survived by his parents Pete and Doretta Rockwell. His brother David Rockwell, and his wife Alesia. His sister Catherine Gillette, and her husband Jeff. Michelle Knouse, his loving sister in law, and her husband Chad. He was an Uncle to his nieces and nephews, Haley and Owen Knouse, Norah and Noelle Gillette. Eric is also survived by his mother and father in law Maureen Marquette and Jack Marquette and Richard Hinnershitz and Pat Mahan Recker.
Many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Eric was taken from this world too soon. He will be missed by all he encountered in his life. His memory will live on in the hearts and actions of his beautiful children.
