Emlie S. Mazepa

Emlie S. Mazepa, 87, formerly of Sinking Spring and Pottstown, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2023 at 7:00 pm at Berks Heim.  She was preceded in death by her husband Ilarij Mazepa.  Born in Philadelphia, Mrs. Mazepa was the daughter of the late Alexander Pierce Saunders and Isabel Mary (Potts) Saunders.  She graduated Smith College in 1957 and earned her Master’s Degree in Library Science from Drexel. She was employed by the Free Library of Philadelphia.  Mrs. Mazepa was of the Episcopalian Faith.  She is survived by her son James Edward Martin husband of Beth Martin of California; her daughter Susan Saunders Martin wife of Chris Andrien of Pottstown; step-daughters Olga Carynnyk of Philadelphia and Irene Kurylas of Pittsburgh; grandchildren Gracie and May; step-grandchildren Andrew, Alexandra, Lydia, Paul and her great grandchildren Aksel and Annika.  She is also survived by her brother William Campbell Saunders husband of Dawn Saunders of Florida.

Interment will be held at the convenience of the family at Edgewood Cemetery, Pottstown.  Bean Funeral Homes & Crematory 3825 Penn Ave. Sinking Spring is in charge of arrangements.
