Emily Hiester

Emily L. Hiester, 101, of Sinking Spring, passed away April 13, 2010 at 11:05 PM in Reading Hospital & Medical Center where she was a patient since April 11th. She was the wife of Charles W. Hiester who passed away September 16, 1955. Born in Spring Twp. on June 28, 1908, she was the daughter of the late Calvin and Annie M. (Speicher) Reifsnyder.

Mrs. Hiester was a member of North Heidelberg United Church of Christ. She was employed as a sewing machine operator by Kelray for 9 years and Valley Forge Flag Company for 3 years.

Surviving are 3 daughters Annette F. (Hiester) Lengel of Reinholds, Virginia L. (Hiester) McCane of Sinking Spring and D. Frances (Hiester) Weitzel of Wernersville and a grandson Michael G. McCane of Sinking Spring. She was predeceased by 2 sons Glenwood C. Hiester who passed away April 18, 2006 and Frederick S. Reifsnyder who passed away October 11, 2009.
