Emidio Santoni

Emidio "Meme" Santoni, 93, of Temple, passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at 11:30 pm in his home. He was the husband of the late Frances (Valeriano) Santoni who passed away April 14, 2004. Born in Harrisburg, he was the son of the late Loreto and Rosina(Bruni) Santoni. He was a 1941 graduate of Muhlenberg High School and was a member of Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church. Mr. Santoni was an United States Army Tech Sergeant serving in the Philippines during World War II. He was a maintenance plumber at Beryllium in Muhlenberg Township and then served as President of E&F Santoni, Inc., a mushroom business, for 30 years until his retirement. Mr. Santoni was a member of the Temple Fire Company and Saint Marco Society. He was an avid sports enthusiast, following Notre Dame, Boston Red Sox and Jeff Gordon. Together with his wife Frances and their family, they enjoyed traveling, especially to their main stay, Italy.
Mr. Santoni is survived by his daughters Carol F. Manwiller, wife of Royce L. Manwiller of Temple and Kathleen M. Gassert, wife of Kerry M. Gassert of Sinking Spring. He is also survived by his grandchildren Scot, Erin, Chad and Taryn and his great grandchildren Nicolas, Adriana, Jack, Eva, Gianna, Coldin, Chase and Christian. Mr. Santoni is also survived by his brother Dante Santoni, Sr., husband of Carmella Santoni of Temple and was preceded in death by his brother Flinto Santoni. Also surviving is his caregiver Lena Mayne.
Funeral Procession will depart Bean Funeral Home, North 16th & Rockland Streets, Hampden Heights, Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at 9:15 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Holy Guardian Angles Roman Catholic Church 3121 Kutztown Road, Laureldale at 10:00 am. Entombment with Military Honors will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery Mausoleum. The family will receive relatives and friends in Bean Funeral Home, Monday, February 22, 2016 from 6-8:00 pm and on Tuesday from 8:15-9:15 am. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675(woundedwarriorproject.org) in memory of Mr. Emidio Santoni.
