Elwood Ricards

Elwood Elmer Ricards, 99, of Wernersville, passed away on August 9, 2017 in his residence. He was the beloved husband of the late Rose (Cirulli) Ricards. Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Leon Ricards and Irene (Weidner)Dunkleberger. Elwood served proudly in the Civilian Conservation Corps, also known as "CCC's". During his life he was employed as a guard at Textile Works and later as a dedicated handyman to the Schlegel family over 30 years. He is survived by his loving children, Beverly E. Williams, of Wernersville; son, Barry Charles Ricards, of Robesonia; grandchildren, Celeste Brubaker, Justin Ricards, Beverly Lorah, Joseph Ricards and 1 great grandchild, Olivia Brubaker. Elwood is also survived by his half-sister, Susan Barbuty and half-brother Charles Ricards both from Florida. He was predeceased by his sister, Muriel Gehret, his grandson, Barry A. Ricards and half-sister, Elizabeth Ann Delph McLaughlin.
Funeral Service will be held in Bean Funeral Home, 3825 Penn Ave. Sinking Spring, Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at 11:00am. Interment will follow at St. John's (Hain's ) U.C.C Cemetery.
