Elwood Reppert Sr

September 29, 1921 — June 13, 2009

Elwood A. "Woody" Reppert Sr., 87, passed away Saturday, June 13th at 1:52 a.m. at the Reading Hospital and Medical Center, where he was a patient since June 2nd.


Born in Wernersville, he was the son of the late John D. Reppert and Mabel V. (Hassler) Reppert.


He was the loving husband of Lise M. (Tardif) Reppert. The couple shared 35 wonderful years of marriage.


He was a 1939 graduate of Wernersville High School, and also attended Kutztown State College and Temple University.


He was a U.S. Army Veteran during World War II, where he spent 3 years in New Guinea. He worked his way up to a Major at the time of his discharge.


He worked as a Quality Control Engineer for Lucent Technologies (former Western Electric) for 29 years, retiring in 1985.


He was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola R.C.C., Whitfield.


In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son: Elwood A. Reppert Jr. of Hot Desert Springs, CA; a daughter: Janice (Reppert) Shade of Pennsylvania.


There are also three grandchildren: Flynn, Roxanne, and Colin, and a great granddaughter: Vera.


He is also survived by his loving stepson: Andre P. Lavigna, Sinking Spring.


He is also survived by a sister: Shirley A. (Reppert), widow of Donald W. Dreibelbis of Sinking Spring, and a brother: John D. Reppert, husband of Dorothy, of Denver, CO.


In addition to his parents, he is pre deceased by his twin brother: Ellsworth A. Reppert, who passed away on June 19, 1998; and a sister: Ethel J. (Reppert) Fink, who passed away in April of 2000.


His loves were God, Country, and his Family.
