Elsie Rothenberger

Elsie H. Rothenberger, 97, of Fleetwood was born August 25, 1920 and passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at the Berkshire Center. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert G. Rothenberger, Sr. who passed away on May 18, 2008 with whom she celebrated 59 years of marriage before his passing. Born in Brecknock Township, she was the daughter of the late Harry I. Hiester and Stella B. (Eshelman). Elsie was predeceased by her brother Walter Hiester and sisters, Bertha Hammerschmidt, Shelva J. Witmer and Katie Steffy.
Elsie is a 1938 graduate of Wilson High School with an additional amazing accomplishment of perfect attendance throughout her whole educational experience. She was employed by Schiessler Hosiery Mill before retiring in 1985. She was very active with the Goodwill Fire Company and Ladies' Auxiliary. Elsie was a very loving and caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother with an infectious smile. She enjoyed cooking and baking for family and friends. When she wasn't babysitting, Elsie and her husband loved to spend their free time bowling, golfing, playing cards, traveling with her brother-in-law and his wife, or just spending time with family and friends.
Elsie is survived by her children, Robert G. Rothenberger, Jr. (wife Elna), of Exeter Township; Bonnie A. Pleva, of Fleetwood; and Betty L. Brown (husband Dennis), of Mohnton; grandchildren, Britton, Joshua, Jonathan, Marybeth, Jamie and James; and great-grandchildren, Codi, Hayden, Morgan, Jacob, Lucas, Hunter, Casey and Cory.
Funeral Service will be held in Bean Funeral Home, 6 Fairlane Road, Exeter Township, Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at 10:30 am. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive relatives and friends in Bean Funeral Home Wednesday, October 25, 2017 from 9:30-10:30 am.
