Elizabeth “Marietta” Mary Margaret Capece (Dackweiler), 84, of Cornwall Terrace passed away on Friday, December 10, 2021 at Berks Heim Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was the loving wife to Edmund Capece for over 54 years before his passing in May 2017. Born in Koln, Germany she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Rose) Dackweiler. Elizabeth was a graduate of Central Catholic High School. She went on to serve on many groups, Cornwall Terrace Community Association and the Women’s Club of West Lawn. She served as Chair Woman for the Federation Day as well as the Daffodil Days committee, was a life member of American Business Club. Elizabeth also served on the Berks Heim Volunteer Service Board, and was a part of the American Cancer Society, Relay for Life committee.
Elizabeth is survived by her children, Debra L. Schlack, widow of Jeffrey, of West Lawn, and Franklin R. DeGeorge, husband of Jackie, of Reading. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Ryan DeGeorge and Kristie Redcay, as well as her great grandchildren, Kylie and Brennan Redcay. Elizabeth is also survived by her brother, John “Jack” Dackweiler and many nieces and nephews
In addition to her parents and husband, Elizabeth is predeceased by her sister, Theresa Leinbach.
Funeral service for Elizabeth will be held in Bean Funeral Homes, 3825 Penn Ave, Sinking Spring on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at 12:00 PM. Amy Landis, Certified Celebrant to officiate. Interment will follow in Berks County Memorial Gardens. The family will receive guests in Bean Funeral Home, Sinking Spring on Saturday, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
