Elizabeth T. Seward, 88, of Spring Township, passed away Sunday, February 19, 2017 at 11:31 am in her home. She was preceded in death by her first husband Joseph W. Spies in 2010 and her second husband Harold W. Seward in 2015. Born in Reading, Mrs. Seward was the daughter of the late Francis Newman and Mary (Skrocki) McClendon. She was a 1947 graduate of Reading High School and was a member of Saint Catharine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, Exeter Township. Mrs. Seward was a co-founder of Exeter Community Library, served as president of Exeter Township Women's Club for three terms and was very active in the community and its beautification process. She is survived by her children Susan L. Kitzmiller of Carlisle; Amy M. Carl, wife of Thomas G. Carl of Dillsburg; Joseph K. Spies, husband of Kathryn Spies of Summerville, South Carolina and David E. Seward at home along with her 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Also surviving is her brother Robert Ansbach of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Geraldine Oberlin of Fort Myers, Florida and was preceded in death by her sister Jeannette Marr.
