Elizabeth Krick

Elizabeth I. (Ertel) Krick, 86, died peacefully on Sunday, January 8, 2017, at home, surrounded by family and feeling an abundance of love. Betty was born March 28, 1930, and has resided in Kenhorst since 1959. She was the daughter of Mary (Bush) and Thomas Ertel.

She was a 1948 graduate of Reading Central Catholic High School. She was co-founder of Krick's Korner of which she was a co-proprietor for 14 years.

Betty's passion and delight was her family. She also loved gardening, landscaping, cooking, baking, and pampering her pets.

She was a member of St. John Baptist de la Salle, Roman Catholic Church in Shillington.

Betty was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Samuel N. Krick, Sr., her son, Samuel N. Krick, Jr., and five siblings, Francis, Catherine, Dorthea, Thomas, and Barbara.

She is survived by son, Wayne A. Krick, husband of Virginia, daughter, Maureen M. (Krick) Scheirer, husband of Barry, daughter-in-law, Georgette A. Krick, five grandchildren, Curry M. Scheirer (wife, Melissa), Casey M. Scheirer (wife, Jacqueline), Candace M. Scheirer, Adam P. Krick (wife, Teresa), and Alexander N. Krick (wife, Nicole), 13 great grandchildren, and sister, Marilyn Pass of Iowa.

The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to the compassion and medical care of Dr. Elliott Leisawitz, MD, and Dr. Ed Pavillard, DO.

Funeral procession will depart Bean Funeral Home, 129 East Lancaster Ave. Shillington, Friday, January 13, 2017 at 10:15 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint John Baptist de la Salle Roman Catholic Church, Kerrick & Mitti Roads, Shillington at 11:00 am. Reverend Robert T. Finlan, Celebrant. Interment will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends in Bean Funeral Home, Friday 9:00-10:15 am.
