Elizabeth Huber

Elizabeth M. Huber, 90, of Reading, PA, passed away June 17, 2015 at the Reading Hospital.

Betty was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, the daughter of the late Walter F. and Jean A. (McLean) Browne. She came to the U.S. at the age of 22, in search of adventure, settling in Philadelphia, PA.

Betty was employed as a secretary at the prestigious accounting firm, Lybrand, Ross Brothers, and Montgomery (now PricewaterhouseCoopers). In 1958 Betty married Henry J. Huber and they moved to Reading, PA, where she became a homemaker, and mother of two children. Betty and Henry enjoyed 56 wonderful years of married life together; Henry passed away November 13, 2014.

A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Betty loved dancing, was an excellent cook and enjoyed entertaining, traveling, bridge, and socializing with her family and many friends. She served as President of the Greenfields Auxiliary of St. Joseph's Hospital. Betty always had a positive attitude and outlook on life.

Survivors include beloved children, Darrell W. Huber of Whitfield and Maureen F. Huber of Reading; grandchildren, Paige E. Huber and Madison R. Huber; and loving sister, Eileen I. Smith, Squamish, BC.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, June 28, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in Bean Funeral Home, 3825 Penn Avenue, Sinking Spring, Rev. Dewald, officiating. The family will receive friends and relatives from 1-2:00 p.m.
