Elizabeth Cooper

Elizabeth A. Cooper, 84, of Lincoln Park, passed away March 10, 2010 at 4:34 am in ManorCare Health Services, Spring Townhip. She was the Beloved Wife of John E. Cooper to whom she was married for almost 62 wonderful years. Betty and John were married on May 29, 1948 by Rev. Luke Schweitzer of Nativity Lutheran Church in Northeast Reading. Born in St. Clair, PA, she was the daughter of the late George and Susan(Sabodish) Kanezo. She was a 1943 graduate of Reading High School and took several night courses at Albright College. Betty was a private secretary to the Secretary/Treasurer at Nolde and Horst Company in Reading from 1943-1953. In the 1970's she worked for 10 years in Whitners store in the Berkshire Mall. She also worked for 5 years in the bookkeeping department in ManorCare Health Services in West Reading. Betty was active with the Reading High School Class Reunion Committee when the 5 year reunions were held. Betty and John enjoyed traveling to Stone Harbor, NJ every summer with their two sons. They also enjoyed day trips throughout eastern PA. and trying out restaurants in the different areas. She will be greatly missed by her family, neighbors and her many friends. She was also a member of Lincoln Park Community United Methodist Church. In addition to her husband she was a Beloved Mother to John M. Cooper of Spring Township and David M. Cooper of Temple. She was preceded in death by her sister Susan Petro.
