Eleanor Mihalik

Eleanor B. (Yoncoski) Mihalik, 92, of Sinking Spring, passed away on May 4, 2017 at The Reading Hospital.
Born in Shamokin, she was the daughter of the late Anthony Yoncoski and Violet (Kulbacki) Yoncoski.
She was predeceased by her husband, John G. Mihalik; and her brothers, Robert, Eugene, and Anthony Yoncoski; and sister, Marie Rakofsky.
She is survived by her children, Kenneth J., husband of Kathleen, of Sinking Spring; Barry J., husband of Agnieszka, of West Lawn; and Bonnie M. Mihalik of Allentown. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Stephanie Mihalik, Benjamin and Zachary Faust, and step-daughter Emilia Kanavins; two great-step grandchildren; and her brothers, John and Richard Yoncoski; and sister, Shirley Mehley.
She graduated from Coal Township High School (Shamokin) in 1942. She retired from Palmer Candy, after working for 28 years as a candy decorator. Eleanor was also a long-time member of St. John Baptist de la Salle Catholic Church.
Eleanor had many fond memories of growing up in a large family in a small town, and shared those in her later years with her own family. She will be fondly remember, and, at times, sadly missed, by her family, friends and those she encountered over the years.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John Baptist de la Salle Church, 42 Kerrick Road, Shillington, on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at 11:00 AM. The family will receive family, relatives and friends at Bean Funeral Home, 129 E. Lancaster Ave., Shillington on Thursday from 9-10:15 AM. Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family at All Saints Cemetery in Elysburg.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to St. John Baptist de la Salle Church.
