Elaine M. Whiteman, 82 passed away peacefully, Wednesday, August 2, 2018 in her daughter's home surrounded by family. Born in Fall River, MA, June 3, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Dorothy and Walter Watson, and the wife of her late husband Richard Whiteman Sr.
Elaine was always so grateful for her 82 years of life; often saying "I'm 82 years old and I've lived a good life!" Spending time with her family, running the streets shopping and eating out with her niece Sheila, decorating her home, her love for "goodies", listening to Barbara Streisand, snuggling her dog Candy, talking on the phone (for hours!), and making people smile with her jokes were all things she loved so much.
She led a quiet life, yet one so full! Full of great love for her mother and father and for her husband Richard "Dick" Whiteman of 63 years. Full of special times shared with her family in Pennsylvania and in Rhode Island. Full of happiness enjoying her home, and full of a heart so giving and warm.
She is now at peace with God and her loved ones who have gone before her. Although she was ready to go, our hearts weren't. She will be greatly missed by her children, Deb Steffy (husband Dave), Richard Jr. (wife Marcy), and John (wife Hope). She will be forever in the hearts of her sisters and life-long friends Marylou Schlip and Dorrie Parker and her niece Sheila Dubell. Her stories and memory will live on through her grandchildren and great grandchildren, granddaughter Tara (and Corey), grandsons, Chad, Jared, (Andrea and the boys), Todd, (Kaitlyn and the boys), and Tyler (and Tiff). Elaine will be forever remembered by her dearest friend Joan Barbon and by her nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, friends and their families. All blessed to have had her in their lives.
In remembrance of Elaine, eat something decadent & delicious and have a "goodie" for her or buy yourself something you've always wanted because she often said, "Enjoy life - it goes by fast!"
A private service will be scheduled by the family.
