Edmond Wieczorek

February 26, 1921 — October 27, 2016

Edmond J. Wieczorek, 95, a resident of The Highlands at Wyomissing, formerly of Reading, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2016 in Reading Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Anna F. (Trygar) Wieczorek, having been married to the love of his life for nearly 57 years prior to her death in 2004. Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Walter and Stella (Zabinski) Wieczorek, and brother to five sisters. Mr. Wieczorek was a long-time member of Saint Peter the Apostle Church in Reading, although he more recently attended St Ignatius Loyola Church in Sinking Spring. He was a graduate of the Marine Corps Institute in Quantico, Virginia, and faithfully served in the United States Marine Corps for nearly 20 years, a period that included action in both World War II and the Korean War. He returned to Reading with his family and joined Rockwell International where he was a supervisor before retiring in 1982.
Besides his wife, Mr. Wieczorek was preceded in death by his son Dennis E. Wieczorek, husband of Marla Weiner of Highland Park, Illinois. He is survived by his son Gary (Kathleen) Wieczorek of Pittsburgh, and by his grandchildren Joanna (Jeffrey) Davidson, Allison Wieczorek, Nicolas Wieczorek, Thomas (Erica) Wieczorek, Ellen Wieczorek, and John Wieczorek, along with his great-grandsons Jack and Beau Davidson. Also surviving are several dear nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Peter the Apostle Church, 326 South 5th St, Reading, PA 19602, on Friday, November 4, 2016, at 9:45 am. Entombment with Military Honors will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery Mausoluem. The family will receive relatives and friends in Bean Funeral Home, 129 East Lancaster Ave.Shillington, Thursday, November 3, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Saint Peter the Apostle Church Memorial Fund at the above address, or to the Alzheimer's Association, Berks County Office, 237 Court St, Reading, PA 19601.
