Edith Mormile

Edith J. Mormile, 96, of Cumru Township, passed away Friday, July 8, 2016 at 9:15 pm in Ephrata Community Hospital. She was the wife of the late Stephen V. Mormile who passed away in 2008. Born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, but raised in Kingston, New York, Mrs. Mormile was the daughter of the late Roy E Jacob and Minnie E. Young. She was a member of Saint Thomas Roman Catholic Church in Brigantine, New Jersey. Mrs. Mormile is survived by her daughter Annette M Price, wife of Robert A Price of Cumru township and son Dr. Robert Mormile, husband of Linda Mormile of Virginia along with her grandchildren Alexis, Austin, Aaron, Joselyn and Gabrielle and her step grandchildren Stephanie and James. She is also survived by 6 great grandchildren.

Edith received her teachers certificate in New York and taught third grade prior to her marriage to Stephen in 1952. She resided in Camden New Jersey following her marriage and was a mother, wife and homemaker throughout her adult life. Edith and Stephen enjoyed spending time in Brigantine, New Jersey where they owned a bay front home since 1968. Retirement years were divided between their condominium in Vero Beach and their shore home. Edith was a loving mother and grandmother, always placing family and friends first. She was an avid reader and gentle soul.

Prayer Service will be held in Bean Funeral Home, 129 East Lancaster Ave. Shillington, Friday, July 15, 2016 at 3:00pm. Reverend Richard H. Clement will officiate. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. The family will receive relatives and friends Friday 1:00-3:00 pm.
