Edgar Weitzel Jr

Edgar R. Weitzel Jr. 77, of Birdsboro, passed away on October 6, 2017 in his residence. He was the beloved husband for 52 years of RoseMarie (Donmoyer) Weitzel. Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Edgar R. Weitzel Sr. and Virginia R. (Stoyer) Weitzel. During his life he worked in transportation for Dana Corporation for 33 years retiring in 1998. He also was a proud member of Peace Lutheran Church and served proudly in the United States Navy. In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Edgar R. Weitzel IV, husband of Jennifer of Sinking Spring; Edgar R. Weitzel III, of Texas; Albert E. Weitzel, of Florida; Judy L. Adams, wife of Ronald, of Blandon; Jacqueline E. Pike, wife of John, of Reading; Virginia M. Boyer, of Leesport; Dana M. Tranovich, wife of Kyle, of Birdsboro; and Tina Bowlin, of Oregon. Edgar is also survived by his 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sisters, Beverly Shellenberger, wife of Michael, of Brecknock Township; Joyce Solt, of Reading; brothers, Richard E. Weitzel, of Reading; and Barry L. Weitzel, husband of Donna, of Muhlenberg; He was predeceased by his brother Gary P. Weitzel and sister, Audrey Ash.
Funeral Service will be held in Bean Funeral Home, 6 Fairlane Road, Exeter Township, on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at 11:00am. Reverend Robin L. Henry will officiate. Interment will follow at Berks County Memorial Gardens. The family will receive relatives and friends in Bean Funeral Home, on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 from 7:00pm-9:00pm and Wednesday from 10:00am-11:00am.
