Dr. George Dick

Dr. George W. Dick, 86, of Lower Heidelberg Township, passed away Sunday, September 24, 2017 at 9:37 am in Reading Hospital. He was the husband of the late Helen J. (Cunningham) Dick who passed away September 2, 2008. Born in Toronto, Canada, Dr. Dick was the son of the late George H. and Elizabeth (McGill) Dick. He received his bachelor of science degree, master's degree and doctorate degree in electrical engineering from the University of Toronto. Dr. Dick was a research engineer for Bell Laboratories for 35 years, retiring in 1996. He enjoyed sailing on the Chesapeake Bay as well as in New Jersey and New York. Dr. Dick is survived by his daughter Nancy J. Behrens, wife of James Behrens of Lebanon, New Jersey and his sons George D. Dick, husband of Carol A. Dick of Wyomissing and Gordon J. Dick of Manville, New Jersey and his grandchildren Adam, Dana, Jason and Rachel.
Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held in Bean Funeral Home 3825 Penn Ave. Sinking Spring, Thursday, September 28, 2017 at 10:00 am. Amy S. Landis, Certified Celebrant will officiate. Interment will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends Wednesday, September 27, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 pm and Thursday 9:00-10:00 am.
