Douglass Thompson

Douglass E. Thompson, 53, of Spring Township, passed away March 21, 2016 in the Reading Hospital.
He was the husband of Lori B. (Schaeffer) Thompson; they celebrated 31 years of marriage.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Larry S. Thompson and Mary E. Stoudt of Adamstown.
Douglass was a 1980 graduate of Schuylkill Valley High School and was employed at Carpenter Technology as a machinist for 27 years.
Surviving in addition to his wife Lori are children Jason T. Kauffman, husband of Lisa, Bern Twp.; Perry S. Thompson, husband of Ayla, Cumru Twp.; Ethan A. Thompson, Spring Twp.; five grandchildren Kaley, Chelsea, Brody, Zyra and Lucian and sister Sybil R. Thompson, Reading. He was predeceased by a sister Tessa Thompson.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Doug's memory to Alzheimer's Association: 237 Court St., Reading, PA 19601.
A Life Celebration Service will be held in Bean Funeral Homes, 3825 Penn Avenue, Sinking Spring, Friday, March 25, 2016 at 12:00 noon, Kathy L. Lentz, certified celebrant to officiate. The family will receive relatives and friends 10:00-12:00pm.
