Dorothy Singlar

Dorothy E. "Dottie" Singlar, 85, passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at 9:00 am in Berks Heim. She was preceded in death by her first husband William J. Polaski who passed away June 21, 1971 and her second husband George D. Singlar who passed away November 25, 1985. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Mrs. Singlar was the daughter of the late Joseph and Cecelia (Brophy) Golabek. She was employed by Berks County Intermediate Unit In Home Day Care and then was an infant instructor at the Children's Home of Reading. Following her retirement she worked part time at Codi's Coffee in Reading. Mrs. Singlar is survived by her children Diane Titone, wife of Vincent Titone of Long Island, New York; Donna M. Bagenstose, wife of Kenneth C. Bagenstose of Leesport; Dori Angelis, wife of Joseph Angelis of Leesport; Linda M. Reusch, wife of Michael Reusch of Chicago, Illinois; David G. Singlar of Reading and Lori A. Good of Pottstown. She is also survived by her grandchildren Denise Freidel; Robert Fontana; Joseph Fontana; Christopher Bagenstose; Jennifer Napoli; Brandon Angelis; Ryan Angelis; Maleri Singlar; Marissa Schofer; Zackary Singlar; Ashley Singlar; Jessica Singlar and Randi Harakal along with her 20 great grandchildren.
Memorial Service will be held in Bean Funeral Homes & Crematory, 3825 Penn Ave. Sinking Spring, Monday, August 8, 2016 at 3:00 pm. Reverend Kerry L. Hicks will officiate. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. The family will receive relatives and friends Monday 2:00-3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Humane Society of Berks County, 1801 North 11th Street, Reading, PA 19604 in memory of Mrs. Dorothy E. Singlar.
