Dorothy Shollenberger

Dorothy S. Shollenberger, 104, formerly of Reading, passed away Monday, November 28, 2022 at 9:00 am at Country Meadows of Wyomissing.  She was the wife of the late Nathan L. Shollenberger who passed away June 29, 1995.  Born in Reading, Mrs. Shollenberger was the daughter of the late Robert Schappell and Blanche M. (VanPelt) Schappell Kauffman.  She was employed by Berkshire Knitting Mills for 20 years and for Grafika Commercial Arts in Sinking Spring for 16 years retiring in 1982.  Mrs. Shollenberger was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Reading.  She is survived by her sister Elizabeth Wertz of Bern Township and many nieces, nephews and their extended families.  Mrs. Shollenberger was preceded in death by her sister Jane Daubert and her brother Donald Kauffman.  The family of Mrs. Shollenberger would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Country Meadows and Grane Hospice for the care and devotion they offered to Dorothy.

Funeral Service will be held at Bean Funeral Home 1605 Rockland Street, Hampden Heights, Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at 12:00 pm.  Reverend Mary E. Wolfe will officiate.  Interment will follow at Laureldale Cemetery.  The family will receive relatives and friends at Bean Funeral Home Tuesday from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hope Lutheran Church Food Pantry, 601 North Front Street, Reading, PA 19601 in memory of Mrs. Dorothy S.
