Doris V. Buehrer (Sary), 95, of Shillington, passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at The Reading Hospital, with her loving family at her side. She was the loving wife to Robert P. Buehrer for over 72 years of marriage. Born in Bethlehem, PA, Doris was the daughter of the late Riley Sary and Irene (Bujcs).
After graduating from Liberty High School in Bethlehem in 1947, Doris's early work years were spent at Bell Telephone as an operator in both Allentown and Reading. Later she worked at Pomeroy's in Downtown Reading for many years. Doris had a very strong faith and lived that faith by volunteering at Lifeline, in the cafeteria at La Salle academy and weekly cleaning of her parish church. When her children were growing up she was active in The Brookline Playground Association, Parent activities at St. John's School and Mother's Club at Holy Name High School. She and Bob were very active members of St. John's Primetimer's Club. Her greatest joy came from spending time with family ,especially her grandchildren and great grand-children. Birthday parties, summer picnics and trips to the Jersey Shore and Christmas Cookie Bakes brought her such happiness.
In addition to her husband Robert, Doris is survived by her children, Gail Ambrose, wife of Joseph, of Shillington, Kathryn M. Coles, wife of Steven, of Quakertown, and Robert R. Buehrer, husband of Kimberly, of Blandon. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Valerie L. Shannon, Phillip H. Coles, Michael J. Righi, Christopher R. Buehrer, Elizabeth M. Gottschall, Angela M.
