Donna Landis

Donna T. Landis, beloved wife of 53 years to William L. Landis, passed away peacefully with family at her side on Monday, October 23, 2017. Devoted mother to Laura (Troy) Burkert and Marian Healey (deceased) and loving grandmother to Kathryn Burkert, Joseph Burkert, Joshua Healey and Jacob Healey, as well as beloved aunt to numerous nieces and nephews. Donna was preceded in death by her parents Cyril J. and Marian Kennedy, and her siblings Ann Hill, James Kennedy, Margaret Nienaber, John J. Kennedy, Paul Kennedy and Eugene Kennedy.
Donna was a graduate of Fine Arts from Xavier University in 1962. She served her country in 1963 and 1964 as a Dept. of the Army civilian where she met her husband, Bill, who was serving in the U.S. Army. She was employed for 23 years at Aetna Insurance Co. as a Claims Supervisor, retiring in 1996. Donna was an avid reader, belonging to two Book Clubs with very special people who became very good friends. For many years she loved to have Christmas Cookie Decorating parties for all the children. She enjoyed entertaining and using her gourmet cooking skills at her home that she so lovingly decorated. She also enjoyed gardening her flower beds. Donna always greeted and said goodbye to everyone with warm hugs and a beautiful smile. Her faith in God sustained her throughout her courageous battle with cancer and she went to her eternal reward well fortified with the Sacraments of her church.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church 2810 St. Alban's Drive, Sinking Spring, Friday, October 27, 2017 at 12:30 pm. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. The family will receive relatives and friends in Saint Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church Friday 11:15 am to 12:15 pm. In lieu of flowers Donna requested donations to the charity of one's choice in her memory.
