Donna J. Lackwood

Donna J. Lackwood, 78, of Blandon, PA, passed on peacefully Thursday, October 3, 2024 at 3:45 am at Maidencreek Place after a heroic struggle with cancer. She was the wife of the late David Lee Lackwood who passed away in 1995. Born in Reading, Mrs. Lackwood was the daughter of the late R. Donald Adams and Eleanor I. (Bobbenmoyer) Adams Williams. She was a member of the former Holy Spirit Lutheran Church in Reading where she served as Church Secretary for 53 years and impacted many lives during her career until her retirement. Donna and David had no children of their own, but Donna was surrounded by many in her family and those of her close friends. Mrs. Lackwood is survived by her sister Barbara J. Schappell wife of Dennis H. Schappell of Hamburg; her brother James L. Adams husband of Karen Adams of Lancaster; her nephews Jeremy J. Schappell, Matthew D. Schappell, Timothy J. Adams, her nieces Molly B. Booker and Kelly A. Adams and her great nieces and great nephews Jacob Geske, Cole Schappell, Hayden Schappell, Kyle Schappell, Noah Schappell, Jackson Booker, Tea Booker and Luhaely Adams. Donna will be greatly missed by her siblings, her extended family, friends, co-workers at Holy Spirit Church, and a close group of fellow church secretaries with whom she kept in contact.

Funeral Service will be held at Bean Funeral Home 1605 Rockland Street, Hampden Heights, Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at 12:00 pm. Reverend Robert Argot will officiate. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive relative and friends at Bean Funeral Home Wednesday from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
