Donald Youse

September 20, 1932 — November 2, 2008

Donald B. Youse, 76, of Kutztown formerly of Oley, passed away November 2, 2008 at 5:10 AM in St. Joseph Medical Center where he was a patient since October 21st. He was the husband of Renia J. (Smoyer) Youse. Born in Dryville, he was the son of the late Levi S. and Helen A. (Sanders) Youse.
He was a good husband, father and family man who enjoyed going to breakfast with his buddies.
Donald was an Army veteran of the Korean conflict serving in the 21st Transit Car Company. He drove a jeep to the concentration camps bringing supplies, candy, clothing and medical supplies from the Red Cross. He also drove the generals to the peace talks in Panmunsom, Korea. Mr. Youse was a member of St. Paul's UCC, Fleetwood. He was a member of American Legion Post #217 in Topton, Rockland Gun Club, Mertztown Gun Club and Lyon's Fire Company Beneficial Assn.
He was employed in maintenance at Boyertown Casket Company for 25 years and later worked 17 years in maintenance at Specialty Design & Manufacturing, retiring in 1994.
Surviving in addition to his wife are 2 sons, Michael D. husband of Kim L. Youse of Kutztown and Mark R. Youse and his fiancAC. Kathleen M. Stoudt of Fleetwood, a daughter Donna R. (Youse) wife of Craig Strunk of Fleetwood, 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister Joan (Youse) Snyder and 2 brothers Jay Youse and Lee Youse.
