Donald M. Westley

Donald M. Westley, 92, of Shillington, passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at his residence at The Heritage of Green Hills, with his loving family by his side. Donald was the loving husband to Doris M. (Schwenk) for over 72 years of marriage. Born in Reading, Donald was the son of the late Joseph M. Westley and Flora (Hinkle). He was a graduate of Reading High School and went on to serve in the United States Army, during the Korean War. Donald was a lifelong member at West Lawn United Methodist Church. He was also an entrepreneur, a self-made businessman who worked for himself for most of his life until selling his business into his retirement.

In addition to his wife Doris, Donald is survived by his daughters, Donna M. Mendenhall, wife of Dale, of Ione, WA, Diane M. Wertz, widow of Thomas, of Milton, DE, Debra M. Sowell, wife of John of Newport, NC, his grandchildren, Margot, Charles, Angela, Leann, Westley, Katie, as well as his great grandchildren, Gale, Ethan, Cayden, Karissa, Harrison, Owen, Lucy, and Ashley, wife of Ethan.

Donald is predeceased by his siblings, Robert Westley, Ruth Wuenschel, Wilbur Westley, and Earl Westley.

Funeral service for Donald will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024, at 10:00 AM, in Bean Funeral Home, 3825 Penn Ave, Sinking Spring. Interment to follow in Laureldale Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends in Bean Funeral Home, Sinking Spring, on Friday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
