Donald J. Schuchart, Sr. 85, formerly of Sinking Spring, passed away May 15, 2010 at 11:10 PM surrounded by his loving family in Zerbe Sisters Nursing Home, Narvon where he resided since August of 2008. He was the beloved husband of Blanche M. (Laurence) Schuchart for 65 years. They were married in Monahan, Texas in 1944. Born in Reading on January 31, 1925, he was the son of the late Augustus W. and Margaret M. (Strasbaugh) Schuchart.
Mr. Schuchart was employed as an air brake inspector by Conrail for 38 years retiring in 1986. He was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola RCC in Whitfield. Donald served for three years as an airplane and engine mechanic in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Donald J. Schuchart, Jr. husband of Jean (Rothenberger) of Hyde Park; three daughters, Donna L. wife of Stanley J. Plesnarski of Kenhorst, Susan J. wife of Brian Agsten of West Lawn, and Debra A. wife of James Orth, Jr. of Reinholds; eight grandchildren Sheila, Shari, Dianne, Heather, Liesel, Haley, Donnalee, and Jimmy; ten great grandchildren, Michael, Bethany, Ciara, Christos, Julianna, Cheyenne, Cassidy, Charles, Brandon, and Madelynn; one great great grandson Michael, a son-in-law Stan Dudek of Alexandria, VA, and a sister Mary Catherine wife of Michael Polyak of Reading. He was predeceased by a daughter Dianne Dudek, a great grandson Brian, and two brothers Eugene and Charles.
