Donald Conrath

Donald C. Conrath, 83, of Shillington, passed away on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at the Reading Hospital. Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Clayton & Edna (Risener) Conrath. Donald was a graduate of Reading High School, and went on to serve in the United States Army. After leaving the military, he went on to work as an Inspector for Lucent Technologies for many years before his retirement.

Surviving Donald is his sister, Karen Rhoads, wife of Stanley, of West Lawn, his niece, Stacey Negron, of Fleetwood, and his nephew, Kevin Rhoads, of Sinking Spring, great-nieces, Aliyah Negron, Addasyn Negron, Ava Rhoads, Abby Rhoads, Lexey Rhoads, and great-nephews, Aidan Negron, Jordan Rhoads and Liam Rhoads.  While Donald never married or had children of his own, he treated all of his nieces and nephews as if there were his grandchildren.

Donald enjoyed having family picnics, holidays and he even enjoyed watching a few soccer games.  Every year, Donald would make trips to Josh Early for Christmas candy and lunch and treated his entire family to a Christmas show at the Dutch Apple, booking one last show before he passed this year.  He was always willing to help others and donated to many charities as well as the churches he attended.  He was an avid church goer and even watched ministries on cable when he was no longer able to attend.  In his younger years, he enjoyed traveling and talking of his time serving in the Army especially when he was stationed in Germany.  He loved taking pictures and having slide shows when the family was together for special occasions.  His favorite time was when the family had game night and he could play his favorite game of Flinch.  He lived almost his entire life with and taking care of his mother Edna, and now they are back together again.

Funeral Service for Donald will be held in Bean Funeral Homes, 3825 Penn Ave, Sinking Spring, on Friday, September 24, 2021 at 12:00 PM. Amy Landis, Certified Celebrant, will officiate. Interment will follow at Alsace Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends at Bean Funeral Homes, Sinking Spring, on Friday, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
